Step 1: Sew 1 1/2" strips together to desired length and press seams open. Sew 1 3/4" strips together to desired length and press seams open.
Step 2: With right sides together, layer 1 1/2" strip on top of 1 3/4" aligning to one long edge. Sew together with ¼" seam allowance. Press seams towards 1 1/2" strip.
Step 3: Fold strips wrong sides together, align the raw edges, and press. Strip should be 13 /8" wide with 1/8" of the larger strip showing.
Step 4: Place binding with smaller strip side down on the back of quilt and align raw edges. Sew binding on with a 1/4" seam allowance.
Step 5: Flip binding to the front. Stitch on the seam of the binding to secure.
